I’ll take the under and the over!

This is the first post for KampusKing’s Blog! We are new to the blogging world, but are now entering our 20’s in the real world. We want to discuss and share everything that is hot or mostly not in the college scene. Luckily, we have created this blog several days before the long awaited Super Bowl, which is taking place at one of its latest dates ever. Will the Patriots finish their season undefeated or will a different Manning, one who has been criticized for most of his career, take home the trophy?

Honestly, I could care less. I have painfully watched the majority of my friends and suit mates cheer on their beloved Patriots team headed by their scumbag of a coach and Mr. GQ himself, Tom Brady. This cheating, juggernaut managed to win every game, receive every call, and obtain the #1 receiver in the game for a 4th round draft pick. This season might not have been as painful to watch if the Red Sox had went 3 and out during the first round of the MLB playoffs. Unfortunately we all had to watch Jonathan Paplebon do the Irish Jig dance in his boxers on the pitchers mound and disgrace yet another American pastime. As for the Giants, I have more sympathy. They have continued to surprise onlookers and Eli Manning has played the best football of his career. New York needs this win. Boston needs to be suppressed once again. The only thing stopping me from fully supporting the Giants is the deep rooted hatred I have for their organization created from my love and passion for the Dallas Cowboys (America’s Team). This NFC East Rival will not receive my fan support going into this Sunday and neither will those Patriot Bastards.

Buttttttt……who said I could not profit from this game!!!!

As a pretty involved sports fan and occasional bettor, a unique situation came into play. A few years ago when I placed bets regularly I learned about situations where the spread can move so much over the span a certain time that a smart bettor could bet on both teams and have a chance at winning both bets, and an even smaller chance of losing bets. To an advanced bettor this may be a risky move and not pay out in the long run, but I decided to give it a try.

Here is what I was able to do:

I first placed a bet in favor of the Giants at +14 which means as long as they don’t lose by 14 I win the bet.

Several days later after the line moved, I was able to bet on the Patriots at -11, which means as long as they win by more than 11 I win the bet.

As long as the Patriots win, I am guaranteed to win one of these bets and possibly both bets. This would happen if the Patriots win by more than 11 (so 12 or 13) enabling the giants not to lose by more 14. Simple Odds tell you this will be a push, but since I am not trying to risk my life savings, I figured this would give me a small chance to make some serious money without betting on either of these hated teams.

So lets gamble and see if the Patriots can magically win by 12 or 13. Its worth a shot, I have never seen such a luck struck en team.

I’m OUT!
